Even Kakadu staff weekend in Kakadu!

Motor Car Falls is the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon | Image by Anja Toms

After a long week at work, some of my girlfriends and I decided to go to Yurmikmik and do some of the walks. Even working at the park all week doesn’t put me off coming here on my weekends - it’s the best place for some much need rest and relaxation!

We made our way to Motor Car Falls Walk, passing through the open woodlands.  We eventually made it into the monsoon forest which was just breathtaking. At first we thought we would be walking forever but to our surprise this was not the case - but we made sure we had some food (a picnic of dips and crackers, yum) and plenty of water.

At Motor Car Falls we lay back and listened to the waterfall and even took a little nana nap! After that, a chat and a quick dip in the pool were all we needed to take our cares away after the stressful week we’d all had. In fact, we all had such a great time, and felt so revived after, we’re thinking we’ll go to Gubara next week. After all, girls just want to have fun!
