Human brochures come to the gardens

Young visitors enjoy the family activities on offer at the gardens

The Australian National Botanic Gardens will play host to more than two-hundred ‘human brochures’ this month as part of the preparations for Canberra’s centenary celebrations in March 2013.

Over 30,000 Canberrans applied to take part in the ‘challenge’ to visit Canberra and report back to the nation – thus making themselves human brochures for our capital city.

While here they’ll visit our world–class collection of Australian native plants (over 6,000 species!) bask in the spring sunshine on the Eucalypt Lawn, admire the water dragons on the Café Lawn, perhaps cool off down in the Rainforest Gully and sample the delights of Floresco in the Gardens.

Local musicians Annie and the Armadillos will play a teaser to the upcoming summer concerts and there’ll be family games and activities to sample.

The human brochures will share their experiences on social media - catch their tweets at #humanbrochure to see what they think of their capital.
