Bowali baby eating pandanus nuts on New Year’s Eve

A family of sulphur-crested cockatoos live in a gum tree just outside the Bowali Visitor Centre and we’ve been watching their progress for months now.

The pair mated late last year and we are now watching their little bub grow. Here he is pictured gobbling pandanus nuts on New Year’s Eve.

It’s just one more perk of working at Kakadu!
