Australian National Botanic Gardens horticulturalist Dan Marges discovered a very special plant during a recent expedition to collect specimens for our newly redeveloped Sydney Region Flora Garden — Christmas bells!

Dan was one of about 20 staff who was out and about recently collecting plant material in the Nerriga area, at the edge of Morton National Park in New South Wales. The final collecting day was a collaborative effort with staff from Booderee and the Eurobodalla Regional botanic gardens joining in.

Come and visit us over Christmas and see our spruced-up Sydney Region Flora garden. The Christmas bells at the top of the garden are just starting to flower — so beautifully festive!
