We won! Kakadu has taken out the top prize in the Northern Territory’s Brolga Awards — for the major tourist attraction.

This prestigious award recognises that Kakadu is an immensely special place — its stunning scenery, abundant wildlife and rich Indigenous culture making it a drawcard for tourists from all over the world.

The award also acknowledges the hard work done by everyone involved in tourism in the park and we thank them for their contribution — our traditional owners, tour operators and the park staff.

It was a thrilling moment for us all. We now go on to compete in the National Qantas Australian Tourism Awards to be announced in Cairns in March 2012. Fingers crossed!

Sarah Kerin, Park Manager

  1. If only QLD has proactive people running Tourism QLD we might see some change for the better. Not just Oprah strutting her stuff.
