Dream Team arrive at Uluru

Tourism Australia’s Celebrity Dream Team have reached Uluru. Travel veteran Sophie Falkiner, a former regular on TV show The Great Outdoors from 1993 to 2009, is joined by Bruce “Hoppo” Hopkins from Bondi Rescue, comedian Dave Thornton, musician and actor Eddie Perfect, and The Biggest Loser’s Michelle Bridges on a week-long dash round Australia.

Nova radio’s Ryan “Fitzy” Fitzgerald and Michael “Wippa” Wipfli will also drop in today.

Sophie says Uluru is a place she has always dreamed of visiting.

“I have never been to Uluru, not in the whole time I was doing The Great Outdoors, but I remember when one of the other reporters would come back from doing a story there they would tell me how very spiritual, beautiful and majestic it was,” she says.

Eddie has visited before but can’t wait to return. “I’m looking forward to getting back to Uluru because it’s a magical place,” he said. Bruce is excited to see the culture and experience the desert.

The trip, which began last Friday, is part of Tourism Australia’s ‘There’s nothing like Australia’ campaign which is offering $300,000 in prizes courtesy of Luxury Lodges, Qantas and Sony Music.
