An unexpected camper at Booderee!

Diamond python - placid and not venomous

The diamond python hanging out in the trees

Here’s proof of the variety of wildlife you can see at Booderee.

This large diamond python snake visited the camp sites last week. It decided that by far the nicest place to hang out was up in the trees! Luckily it survived all the traffic as it crossed the road.

Diamond pythons have become quite common in the park in recent years, perhaps as a result of our excellent fox control. Don’t worry – they’re placid and not venomous!

  1. Every couple of months i come home to a diamond python on my front doorstep. My dog is to scared to do anything so i may need to borrow one of your foxes;). Excellent work Martin.
